Founder
Hi, I’m Michael Vasile
I founded 1st Compliant, LLC in 2022 to help electronics recyclers, refurbishers and ITAD companies build management systems that earn certification and keep it.
Today I’m a lead auditor for R2v3, e-Stewards, RIOS, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO/IEC 27001, auditing on behalf of accredited certification bodies. Before that I ran operations at an electronics recycler as Operations Manager and Management Representative, where I implemented R2 and integrated QEH&S standards for the company’s first certification and maintained them through four years of audits. Earlier still, I worked as a civil engineer on major construction projects in London.
That combination is the point. I know what an auditor needs to see, and I know what it takes to keep a management system current while you run a facility.

A note on impartiality
Accredited certification rules keep consulting and certification separate, and I take that seriously. I do not perform certification audits for any organization I have provided consulting services to, and I won’t accept a consulting engagement that would create a conflict with my audit work.
